Everything you need to turn a song and its lyrics into a finished video. No experience needed.
Make your first video in 8 steps
- Name your projectGive it a name so you can find it again.
- Pick the video shapeTall for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, wide for YouTube and TV, portrait for Instagram posts, or square. Do this first so everything fits.
- Add your songChoose an MP3, WAV or M4A file (up to 8 minutes).
- Add your lyricsLoad a lyric file or paste the words, one sung line per row.
- Sync the wordsPress Start word sync and tap Space on every word as it is sung. Or let Automatic sync do it for you (it costs credits).
- Design the videoChoose a background picture or video, the lyric colours and font, and the animation that reacts to the music.
- PreviewPlay it and watch the words move with the song. Fix any word that is out of time.
- Create your videoChoose the quality, then create it. The finished video is saved to your computer.
Common questions
Where are my song, lyrics and projects stored?
Your song, pictures and work-in-progress are kept in your own browser on your own device. Cloud projects (when you save to your account) keep the project settings so you can open them on another device. Clearing your browser data can remove what is stored in the browser, so use Save and keep the backup file the editor offers to download.
I opened my project and some files are missing
The editor shows a list of what it could not find. Choose the same song or picture again from your device and it slots back into the project.
What are credits and when do I use them?
Credits pay for creating a finished video and for optional extras such as Automatic sync and AI pictures. The editor always shows the cost before you confirm. You can buy a credit pack from the “Buy credits” button in the editor.
What if my video export fails?
If a video cannot be completed because of a fault on our side, the credits for that export are returned automatically. If you think you were charged wrongly, email us at the address below with your account email.
My words are out of time with the song
Open Fix timing, play the song, pick the line, and correct it. Changes show on the video straight away. You can also re-sync just the lines that are wrong.
What is Automatic sync?
The song is analysed so each word is timed for you. It costs credits each time you run it, and you can still correct any word by hand afterwards. Tapping the words yourself is always free.
Can I use my own pictures and videos as the background?
Yes. Pick from our library, or choose your own image or video. Make sure you own the rights to anything you upload.
Which songs and lyrics can I use?
Only material you own or have permission to use. See our Acceptable Use Policy for details.
Who can use 123VID right now?
During the launch period, 123VID is open to South African citizens. You will be asked to confirm this and to accept the terms before using features that need an account.
I forgot my password or did not get the confirmation email
Use “Forgot password” on the sign-in screen. Check your spam folder for the confirmation email, and you can ask for it to be sent again.
The page looks wrong or something stopped working
Hard-refresh the page (Ctrl+F5, or on a phone close and reopen the tab) and use an up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. If it still fails, email us and tell us what you were doing.
